Surfrider South Coast is currently looking for a new team to lead the branch. If you would like to be involved, please contact operations@surfrider.org.au

Since 2012, the branch have been active on a number of fronts including organising community beach cleans, drain stencilling to raise awareness of stormwater pollution and campaigning against single-use plastics. The South Coast branch also played a key role in the Ocean Friendly Campaign, which encouraged cafes, restaurants and schools to reduce single-use plastics.

The South Coast branch has collaborated with local environmental organisations to achieve environmental victories for our region. Over the past 10 years, some of our achievements include: hosting 3 Illawarra Clean Beach Festivals, participating in Senate Hearings on marine issues, campaigning for Wollongong City Council to declare a climate emergency and installing Drain Buddies to prevent pollution from entering Wollongong Harbour. We have also led paddle outs to oppose offshore exploration for gas and oil.

We're always looking for more hands to help. Please get in touch if you'd like to be involved!
