Gold Coast:

Coolangatta Beach, May 2003.

The surf has been pretty good for the beginning of winter on the Gold Coast. Subsequently the local Surfrider crew are out surfing and missed the deadline for eNews reports.

Brisbane:

We did, however, get this bit of late breaking news from Brisbane surfriders:

In an effort to keep spreading the word about Surfrider's C.A.R.E philosophy, a team of Brisbane based Surfrider members got active on 17 April by running an information stall at the Ben Harper and Jack Johnson gig at the Gardens Stage. Both Ben and Jack are staunch supporters of the Surfrider Foundation and were delighted to hear that a stall would be set up to provide information to the sell out crowd. The stall took about $270 through donations and merchandise sales and provided a range of information including newsletters, stickers, ashtrays and t-shirts. It was a spectacular outdoor event under the shine of the full moon and the crowd were treated to a gem by both musicians who gave their all.

We were happy for the opportunity to conduct this stall and for the commitment to keep CARE on the minds of the concert goers. Regards Scott, Deanna, Emma, Kristen and Sean
