This website is dedicated to the Gold Coast Tweed Branch of Surfrider Foundation Australia and is an information resource for anyone interested in local coastal management issues and protecting our coastal environments. This space will be regularly updated with news, events and opportunities to get involved in Surfrider activities.
Surfrider Foundation Australia is a not for profit grass roots organisation dedicated to the protection of Australia's ocean, waves and beaches through Conservation, Activism, Research and Education. We are a branch based organisation with over 25 branches and beach representatives Australia wide.
The Gold Coast Tweed Branch is one of Australia's oldest branches with over 20 years' experience in local coastal management issues covering the geographic area between the Southport Seaway to the north and the Brunswick River to the south, and we have regular public meetings at the Tugun Surf Life Saving Club (29 O'Connor St, Tugun) on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm. We also have an office at 139 Duringan St, Currumbin, QLD, 4223, which is open from Monday to Friday between 10am-2pm.

From heading to King Island in Tasmania opposing a proposed Salmon Farm just around from Martha Lavinia, to picking up tonnes of left over waste in the national park surrounding Double Island Point as a result of overuse, to standing on the beach in South Newcastle where a skate bowl is proposed to be built...on the beach!

Thank You, St Kilda Park Primary Year 6
Olivia, Loli, Teddy, Raff and Josh (The Year 6 St Kilda Park Primary St Kilda Peer Leadership Group), recently hosted a screening of Blue The Film, which 275 people attended. They have raised an amazing $231.90, which they have donated to Surfrider Foundation Australia, Specifically in support of our Rise Above Plastics campaign.
