Statement of Purpose:

Rise Above Plastics / National Marine Debris Initiative

Surfrider Australia’s objective is to achieve policy and legislation change of the use and manufacture of plastics in Australia by using National Marine Debris Initiative data and Rise Above Plastics campaign tools to bring attention to the issue in Australian locations.

Surfrider aims to have an impact on the Marine plastics and debris issue through Victories: Successful policy change / lobbying; Participation: Number of volunteers involved in cleanups and Media coverage of cleanups and the National Marine Debris Initiative.
