Good for the Planet: Recreational Surfing Surveys

button Surfrider Foundation condemns Government decision to destroy Bastion Point button

Victorian Minister for Planning, Justin Madden MP, has rejected the findings of the Government’s own Independent Panel Inquiry, and approved a plan to construct a large breakwater and boatramp at Bastion Point, on the east coast of Victoria.

By granting consent to the East Gippsland Shire to proceed with this project, the Minister has ignored advice from within government and gone against the wishes of the majority of the community.

Surfrider Profile Stuart Ball ~ ON THE BALL

Stuart Ball is a legend in the history of Surfrider Australia. Stu was general manager of Surfrider Foundation Australia for many years. But now he is stepping away from the helm and rejoining the mob, the crew of coastal volunteers. It is great that Surfrider won't be losing Stu. This is just a short note to thank him for all his good work. If you see him out surfing give him the set waves. More than likely he'll invite you 'on board'. That is just the type of big hearted guy he is. Thanks Stu! Thanks Stu!

"Butt Naked swimmer" An environmental short film

"Every dollar you spend is a vote." Sandy Shore.

Surfrider Foundation Australia encourages all surfriders to make their vote count.

One aim was to elect the correct people to conserve and sustain our coasts. Now it's time to follow up on any promises that politicians made.

Desalination Plants

Desalination is one of a number of options that local and state governments are investigating as a source of water supply. Something tastes a bit fishy here... Fresh water at large energy costs and at what affect upon local coastal communities and environment?
