ABOUT US

Who We Are
Surfrider Foundation Australia  is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the protection of waves and beaches. We do this through  Conservation, Activism, Research and Education (CARE).   We have 29 Branches and Beach Representatives nationwide.

Surfrider Foundation Australia is a company limited by guarantee (Surfrider Foundation Litd), and is registered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. (ABN: 86 061 168 527).
Surfrider Foundation Australia is an affiliate of the global Surfrider Foundation organisation, which has a presence in the  USA, Japan, Brazil and Europe, and has over 50 000 members worldwide.

Surfrider Foundation advocates for the sustainable management and use of the coastal zone.  Our opportunities to enjoy the coast: its clean water, its biodiversity and its spectacular landforms, are influenced by the actions of individuals, the aspirations of business and the policies of all levels of government.  Surfrider Foundation aims to increase awareness of many issues impacting on our enjoyment of the coast, and to ensure that our children have similar opportunities to enjoy it as we have today. During recent years, Surfrider Foundation  has established itself in this market through active promotion of our programs in both the surfing and mainstream media.
