Contiki presents Surfrider Foundation Beach Clean-up Tour

Surfrider Foundation Northern Beaches Branch and youth travel leader, Contiki, have teamed up to bring a beach clean-up tour to Sydney’s Northern Beaches from Palm Beach to Manly. The tour aims to raise awareness of the dangers of single use plastics on our marine environments as part of it’s national Rise Above Plastics campaign.

The first beach clean-up was held with Contiki staff at the Ocean Care Day Festival (7th December 2014) at Manly Beach, and included a presentation from Barton Lynch, 1998 Billabong Pro and World Title winner.

Each clean-up event is open to the public and includes information on the dangers of single use plastics to our marine environment and the submission of debris data to Tangaroa Blue’s Australian Marine Debris Initiative.
